Our team is accepting new clients. Dr. Roman has a waitlist. A therapy practice JUST for moms! Being a mom at any stage can be hard. Pregnancy and the postpartum period can be an extremely emotional experience for moms. Many changes happen mentally and physically that can make this time period challenging. As many as 1 in 7 moms will experience a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMAD). PMAD can occur at any point from conception through postpartum, sometimes extending into a lengthy course of time if not treated. If you are a mom with these issues, you might feel alone, helpless and fearful of how to ask for help with PMADs.
I provide screening and assessment in order to work with moms in addressing maternal mental health issues and ongoing individual therapy. I welcome moms struggling with fertility or pregnancy loss concerns as these are sensitive experiences that often evoke feelings such as shame, guilt and depression. I also specialize in working with adoptive mothers.
I believe in the importance of bridging the relationship between clinician and client. I received training in maternal mental health and welcome moms of any stage and age to come in and receive the support that they may need.
