I am a board certified and licensed art therapist with 20 years of experience working with youth/teens, adults, and families. I use a creative approach to support individuals in exploring interpersonal, emotional, and behavioral needs, and believe that every person has the resources within themselves to achieve any goal. I aim to work collaboratively with others and to create a comfortable, relaxed, and safe environment that supports creative expression and personal growth.
Art Therapy is a specialized field that utilizes the creative process to explore emotions, behaviors, relationships and experiences. Rooted in traditional approaches and theories of psychotherapy, Art Therapy encourages engagement in the creative process to achieve greater insight into one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
Art making is especially effective in exploring emotional experiences and thought patterns. The use of art making adds a dimension of communication and expression that is not offered in other forms of psychotherapy. I offer a casual and comfortable space, where youth and adults can comfortably address concerns.
