I am a certified psychoanalytic psychotherapist; a certified EMDR therapist and EMDR/flash therapist. I have spent the last 19 years in higher education and clinical practice within my own private practice. My work is approached empathetically building an alliance of understanding, supporting, resourcing and acknowledging each patient as unique with the importance of their situation, allowing them to express their anxiety, fear, sadness, and dread developing a new sense of hope. I believe holding the patients needs is foremost; allowing for progress, achievement and connection to transform, crafting new ways of seeing and being.
I was trained in EMDR 2006 and received certification in 2007. I went on to further study EMDR in multiple workshops through the years in my practice, including 2016 beginning the study of FLASH developed by Dr. Manfield an evidence-based therapeutic intervention for reducing trauma. EMDR/flash is minimally intrusive while processing traumatic memories.
The treatment must fit the needs of the patient. Collaborative effort between client and therapist is the most essential ingredient in the healing process. I use EMDR regularly with my Psychotherapy patients and also provide customized EMDR/flash. I am well known for my caring, support and understanding of my patients' circumstances.
