Mood disorders like anxiety and depression rob too many people of their passion and excitement for living. Deep-seeded trauma can similarly wreak havoc on peoples' lives, threatening to derail their future hopes and plans. The good news is, we do not have to live this way forever and we do not have to go on the journey alone. Therapy is an opportunity to work through the underlying causes of our dysfunctional thoughts and behavior in a safe, professional and nurturing environment. My view of the role of the therapist is simply to help clients tap into their deep wells of strength and wisdom, in order overcome life's inevitable hurdles and struggles. I view my role as a partner in my clients' journeys, rather than the leader or director.
