I think much of therapy involves coming to know that you are safe in the presence of another person - safe enough to feel, “not know”, and share parts of yourself that you might fear, judge, or hate. I offer treatment for children, teens, and individual adults and couples from all phases of life. My approach is psychoanalytic psychotherapy, a collaborative reflection through dialogue on your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. My goal is to create a space where your truths can emerge and become known. I believe whatever you are facing holds meaning and has the potential to be understood and worked through.
The people I work with are often struggling with present and past traumas, relationship problems, and challenges with mood, self-esteem, body image, and identity. I often work with people in addiction and recovery, and those affected by a loved one’s addiction. I also frequently work with artists struggling to find and make their creative work.
My hope is that through our work together, you experience greater contact with yourself and reach a fuller understanding of who you are and what you long to make with your life. My orientation is rooted in contemporary psychoanalysis and informed by queer perspectives and zen traditions. I often draw from music and poetry in my thinking. My style is warm.
