Hi I'm Megan- If you are here it's likely because their is a painful element or many painful elements to your life and you are wanting to move through them. I'm here to help you hold pain differently. I meet people where they are first at foremost. You'll find a reflective and validating counseling environment with me. I also like to flood in skills to empower you, especially in the face of struggle. I enjoy working with adolescents, adult individuals, and couples. I respect all religions and faith backgrounds.
I graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a M.A. in Counseling. During this time I gained experience working with survivors of trauma. I also have extensive experience working with the foster care system as well as with adult domestic violence survivors. I was born and raised in a small town south of Houston and moved to Dallas for college and stayed!
Approaches I commonly use in counseling include Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Behavioral SkillsTraining, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Marriage and Family Therapies.
