I believe the role of a therapist is in helping clients to connect (or re-connect) with their innate wisdom and resilience. If you have found yourself struggling with interpersonal relationships, anxiety, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you then I may be able to support you in making the changes you desire in your life. If you are struggling with grief (from loss or the kind that comes with changes we do not choose for ourselves) then I can help you to navigate the accompanying emotions. I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, adverse childhood events, and perinatal mood changes.
My approach is rooted in somatic techniques including both EMDR and Somatic Experiencing. Above all my focus is creation of a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, comfortable, and supportive. We are co-collaborators on this journey together. As a therapist I serve not only as a guide, but as a witness to your experience and bravery in taking this step.
Through nervous system regulation and increased ease in our bodies, we can move through the work in a way that feels empowered and connected to our values. If you feel ready to take the next step and do this life changing work together then I hope you will reach out to see if we could be a good fit.
