As a Black woman, you have gotten used to carrying the load intended for others, placing yourself last on your to-do list, and being strong for everyone else. You’re so afraid of disappointing others that you continue to suffer quietly despite the feelings of emptiness you experience. You keep your feelings to yourself and go about suppressing them, hoping the feelings will go away, but they won’t unless you decide to change.
I am dedicated to providing mental health services that teach women to prioritize themselves and overcome the emotional and physical fatigue that accompanies feelings of unhappiness and dissatisfaction. I empower women who want to stop sacrificing themselves in their relationships. I educate women on ways to embrace strength and vulnerability simultaneously.
I have experience working with Black women navigating the intersection of race and gender, anxiety, depression, and family issues, including parenting in divorced, blended, or separated families. Members will receive the journal Nourishing the Strong Black Woman: A Self-Care Journal, 2nd Edition, with prompts and exercises to capitalize on the ideas and concepts we cover in the group. It’s designed to explore more in-depth what we’ve uncovered in our time together and prepare you for each upcoming virtual session.
