Hi! I'm Kristin. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist . I have a strong interest in helping people who have lived through or are experiencing trauma. I have extensive experience with PTSD, depression, anxiety, relational issues, active duty military, transition out of military service, LGBTQ+ issues, gender identity, the first generation/immigrant experience, acculturation, “third culture” identity, and navigating systemic oppression.
I am a strong advocate for utilizing both top-down and bottom-up approaches. That means working from the perspective of both mind and body. As an ERYT, I incorporate yoga, mindfulness, and somatic work into my practice. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts therapy, and Family-Systems.
My belief is that mental health includes what’s going on in your mind and your heart, as well as your relationships. The self awareness that we gain through the therapeutic process helps us to better navigate the relationship that we have to our work, family, friends, communities, and our purpose.
