I am passionate about supporting individuals as they make sense of their own unique story and its impact on them. For those who desire a faith based perspective, I enjoy helping people find healing within the context of their relationship with God. Since it is within healthy, connected relationships that growth takes place, my approach with clients includes collaboratively building a strong, therapeutic relationship that will create a foundation for change.
My experience includes addressing relationship dynamics and using EMDR--a trauma treatment model. I spent five years as an adjunct professor at Arizona Christian University--teaching classes related to marriage, family, and parenting. My training includes certificates in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and the Prepare/Enrich Marital Assessment.
My practice has been enhanced by past years of counseling children, building creativity into my approach--as well as a knowledge of life's influential, developmental stages. Through the process of my own healing journey, I have learned how powerful relational vulnerability can be in bringing about change.
