Life can be unrelenting with a multitude of demands, and it can be hard to manage when you’re feeling out of balance in several areas. You may find yourself reaching for a sense of control through eating, weight, isolation, self-medicating, over-scheduling, perfectionism and more, leading to guilt and shame, creating a never-ending cycle of struggle. Moving toward your values, you will find balance, healing, and growth. I believe therapy can be a safe place to make connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that have been feared and avoided. I will help you to become empowered to shape your story and live authentically.
I approach therapy through a cultural humility and trauma-informed lens in which I evaluate how cultural context (e.g., racial, gender, and sexual identity) shapes the person and how they interact with the world. I use evidence-based treatment (FBT, ACT, CBT, and CPT) for individuals struggling with eating disorders, PTSD, depression and anxiety.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know my approach to treatment and I look forward to the opportunity to be part of your recovery journey.
