As a therapist I believe that all individuals have the potential to flourish in their lives. A person who flourishes increases their happiness, well-being and purpose in life. In order to flourish a person must understand and cultivate their strengths. Through the cultivation of ones strengths a person will be able to build and or deepen their interpersonal relationships, increase the amount of pleasure they experience, and contribute to society in a meaningful way.
As a clinician, I use integrative techniques, drawing primarily from the Humanistic, Positive Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) orientations, in order to effectively meet the needs of individuals I work with. I believe that the client-therapist relationship is an essential aspect of therapeutic change.
I work to create a safe, trusting environment that fosters the development of a strong therapeutic alliance. I work with individuals to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their needs. Although the treatment plan is tailored to the individual it generally includes Positive Psychology and CBT skills-based interventions.
