Collaboration is always in order when addressing individual differences and needs, since no two people are the same. My approach is to work close with patients utilizing empirically vallidated techniques conveyed in a user friendly manner. Identifying core conflicts, enhancing patient understanding and education,and treating underlying causes, not symptoms, is essential if relief from the distress is to be achieved.
Cognitive techniques strongly recommend and I concur with utilizing psychoeduction to teach patients about their conditions and to discuss treatment options. I utilize family systems approaches to assist families. To address childhood or adult traumas, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is the treatment of choice.
Connecting individuals to necesarry resouces is an additional focus of our agency. Why reinvent the wheel when it already exists, why not just refer the individual to the source. We will "Make a Difference", in your life.
