I am a client focused therapist that prioritizes the collaboration of patient and provider to best guide treatment and progress that is custom to how an individual heals. I believe in utilizing psychoeducation to help clients have a better understanding of their own mental health, barriers, treatment, and journey. I believe in developing a healthy rapport with clients that allows open and transparent communication to enhance progress of treatment. I focus on providing my clients with a basic understanding of mental health as a foundation to help client have a better understanding of the issues they may be facing.
My experience allows me to see the systems (ie. culture, community, family, peers) in each individual clients life to address barriers, utilize supports, and incorporate them in treatment. It allows to validate and see individual factors that impact a client's experience such as culture, race, gender.
I am licensed as a Forensic Mental Health Counselor. I have worked 7+ years with various populations of NYC, including at-risk youth and family therapy.
