Taking the first step can be hard. Anxiety, depression, addiction, and trauma are just a few of things that us hold back from experiencing a fulfilled and purposeful life. How do we learn that we are worth good things? The key is healing. We can learn that we don't have to be the sum of our experiences, but that we can rewrite our own stories. We can shift the narrative so that we are empowered to make the changes we want to make. As someone in recovery from addiction and trauma, it's possible and attainable for all. We just have to take that first leap and trust the process.
I am a trauma-informed clinician. I believe the person sitting across from me has more than likely endured some sort of traumatic event.
