Trauma is a big umbrella term that can mean different things, and its impact can show up in different ways. Sometimes, people who have had adverse life experiences can swing between trying to stay rigidly in control, or feeling out of control. You may engage in behaviors that seem to bring some relief, even as they cause other problems in your life. These behaviors might include self-harm, substance use, or disordered eating. Other times you may be more impacted by someone else's behavior. Either way, I want to help you feel more freedom and choice in your life and relationships, and find peace from your traumatic experiences.
Therapy can help you build on the strengths you already have, & help you learn new skills to make changes and find relief. I help people who are confused by their emotional reactions to make sense of their feelings, and to learn how to cope with their stress in order to heal and grow. I use an integrated, relational approach to help clients meet their goals.
It takes a lot of courage to meet with a counselor. I want to honor that as we build our relationship. You can view my website to find more information about me, my approach to counseling, and how to schedule an appointment. Let's talk more to see if I am a good fit for you!
