As we encounter challenges that impact our lives we shift and transform accordingly. It can be overwhelming and painful to work through these experiences on our own. Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to step more fully into life through the process of integrating conflicting parts of the self, processing painful memories, and identifying harmful patterns in our relationships. I work with adults of all ages and experiences, and am attuned to the ways in which race, class, gender, sexuality, and ability inform our experiences. I specialize in working with clients struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use.
I am particularly interested in how our experiences impact the body. I believe that healing comes not only from an understanding of the past, but also in transforming how those past experiences live in our bodies. To that end, I integrate mindfulness techniques, EMDR, and other body-centered therapies into my work with clients
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process, and I recognize the strength and courage it takes to begin this journey. I have a warm, empathic, non-judgmental, and when appropriate, humorous style.
