My role as a therapist is to help you navigate life's challenges. Therapy is an opportunity to explore parts of yourself that might be causing distress. It allows you the ability to process and release emotions that have previously caused you to feel stuck, to recognize patterns in behavior and relationships over time, and to assert your needs in order to feel safe. My approach is relational and psychodynamic and I work from the understanding that our earliest attachments inform the way we engage in our present day relationships.
I work with adult individuals and couples, and specialize in issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship distress, and chronic illness including Type 1 Diabetes. I work from an intersectional lens and am always mindful of the ways that race, class, gender, sexuality and ability inform a person's unique lived experience.
My style is warm, empathetic, and collaborative, and I honor the courage it takes for you to work through your challenges alongside me. I strive to create a space for you to access your most authentic, whole self and to trust that your emotions and experiences are valid.
