Youth experience a variety of transitions, challenges, and pressures. Coping with such difficulties while going to school and managing relationships is hard. Kids may show symptoms of anxiety, mood changes, behavior problems, struggles with friends, or trouble in school as a result. I want to help youth and their families get back on track. My primary approach is CBT, which focuses on how thoughts, feelings, and behavior all work together and affect our mental health. Although I use treatments backed by research, I believe my relationship with my clients is the foundation of our work together.
My expertise is in treating youth, ranging in age from preschoolers to young adults. My specialties include anxiety, trauma, adjustment issues, behavior difficulties, and social challenges. I am certified in Trauma Focused CBT, the gold standard treatment for kids who have experienced trauma or loss. I also provide psychological assessment services.
If your child/family is experiencing some struggles, coping with these difficulties is challenging for both the parent(s) and the child. If it is reaching the point where your child's symptoms are interfering with their day-to-life, it is ok to ask for help. I'm happy to chat by phone to discuss your concerns, and to see if we would be a good fit.

I have significant experience working with youth who are struggling with symptoms of anxiety and/or who have been exposed to traumatic events. The foundation for treating anxiety or trauma is a trusting relationship with the therapist. I often work with the child/teen and their parent to determine the best course of treatment based on the symptoms and impact on daily functioning.

I largely rely on evidence-based treatments as my starting point, with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). This treatment includes building an understanding of how thoughts, feelings, and actions interact with one another. We will work on changing any unhelpful thoughts that may be creating negative feelings and interfering with you/your child's functioning.
