MY PRACTICE IS CURRENTLY FULL. I DO NOT ACCEPT INSURANCE. I am a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of individuals struggling to make sense of themselves, and their place in their life and in the world. I have worked for many years with individuals with psychosis, which has taught me to respect our innately human ability to construct narratives of our experiences, and the power of narrative to define our sense of purpose. I work with individuals who want to create lasting change in their lives and bring meaning back to their life story.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Toronto, Canada, and completed medical school at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. I was Chief Resident in psychiatry at UCLA Medical School. I was faculty at the University of Pennsylvania from 2009-2020. I am the recipient of numerous awards, including Exemplary Psychiatrist in 2017 from NAMI.
I work with people collaboratively, and I take an integrative approach to care. Some people make great strides in therapy to reduce their distress or difficulties without medication. For others, medication can provide either temporary or permanent stability to help move therapy forward. Working with families can help cement gains from individual work.
