About

Tanya Brown holds a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Certificate in Guiding Mindful Change. She is no stranger to adversity or trauma. With the loss of her sister, Nicole Brown Simpson, she has faced overwhelming life challenges but used these obstacles to ultimately improve the quality of her life. Tanya became a domestic violence advocate, doing speaking engagements and training that would inform people about the horror of abuse at home.

Adding to her repertoire, ten years after the loss of Nicole, Tanya suffered a mental breakdown and attempted a suicide after the cancellation of her wedding. Little did she know that it was not from the cancellation of the wedding, but rather, it was unresolved grief, loss, trauma, stress, anxiety and depression. With the tools she acquired, she now calls this MELTDOWN a BREAKTHROUGH. As a result, Tanya has made a personal commitment to speak on mental health issues that inflict so many in today’s climate.

Fast forward to 2019, Tanya attempted yet another suicide after a mental, emotional and psychological assault which warranted a five year restraining order against her assailant. Due to the overwhelming stress and trauma, Tanya became horribly angry, hyper-vigilant and even mean, at times which all were so unfamiliar since she is ultimately a very happy person. The gift came when she was FINALLY diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and her healing began.

Now, fully recovered from all the trauma and chaos, she has become a nationally recognized author, speaker, counselor and life coach. Tanya does not waste her experiences, but rather, uses the lessons to help others cope with their own life’s challenges. She has created The T.A.N.Y.A Formula and Tanya's Tools For Change to help people Find Peace Amid Their Chaos. These self-care and life management strategies guide the person to manage their anxiety, depression, adversity and overwhelm so they too, can have a life of optimal well-being.

Tanya is an author of two books; Finding Peace Amid The Chaos: My Escape From Depression and Suicide and The Seven Characters of Abuse: Domestic Violence, Where It Starts and Where It CAN End.

Today, Tanya takes her life experiences to audiences nationwide as a compelling motivational and inspirational speaker and brings that experience to bear on her coaching and counseling practice. Her story makes it clear that you can overcome any adversity with the willingness to ask for help.

Tanya is available for counseling, coaching, workshops and keynotes on mental health, grief and domestic violence.
