Katherine Bouton is the author of “Shouting Won’t Help,” a memoir of adult-onset hearing loss, and "Living Better with Hearing Loss.”

She is a former editor at The New York Times. She has had progressive bilateral hearing loss since 1978. In September 2009 she received a cochlear implant. She is the president of the HLAA-New York City Chapter and a member of the national Board of Trustees of HLAA. She writes the popular blog "Hearing Aids, Hearing Loss, Hearing Help," at katherinebouton.com.
