Jim Dhrymes, MD, is an Attending Physician and Director of the Dual-Inpatient Unit at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Manhattan. He is also an Attending Psychiatrist at Bellevue Hospital Center's Psychiatric Emergency Department, and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine, where he supervises and teaches advanced trainees in Addiction Psychiatry.

Dhrymes has experience treating complex symptomatology such as severe depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, severe anxiety disorders, panic attacks, compulsive or self-destructive behaviors, and traumatic brain injury, frequently in the context of chronic pain syndromes.

In his private practice, based in Manhattan, he provides treatment for substance abuse (including medication-assisted treatment for substance abuse), and holistic psychiatric care for OCD, bipolar disorder, insomnia, and other mental health issues.

Dhrymes trained at NYU as a Fellow in Psychiatry. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
