A Short Video About Female Competitiveness

Last week I posted a video about writing fiction.

This one's about moms and daughters in competition.

I've been making these videos as a break from novel writing, which can feel too much like a grey beast. I'm posting my videos in progress here. In the videos, I read sections of the novel and put the words to drawings.

Something about the fragment of the videos feels freeing to me: I play with pictures, songs, and words--and pulling fragments from different parts of me without stitching them together lets the light crack in. I don't want to be concise: devotion to words can be deadening these days.

This video I've posted above is about female competition. One suggestion of the video: Women compliment each other to hide discomfort about aggression. In counterpoint: A friend recently told me that some feminist critics have written aobut the moral value of a woman's tendency to compliment others.
