The PBS YouTube channel webseries BrainCraft asks the question, "Could You Win the Game of Thrones?" BrainCraft's Vanessa Hill (@nessyhill) looks to psychology for possible answers. Does it take money, strength, or self-control? Money and strength are valuable, but Hill argues that self-control matters more.

Among her sources, she draws from the book Game of Thrones Psychology: The Mind is Dark and Full of Terrors, specifically from the chapter "Self-Control and the Secret to Winning the Game of Thrones" by Mark Caldwell Jones and Wind Goodfriend. Self-control is certainly not the only valuable quality, but it is the trait that particular chapter emphasized as critical.

Watch the video (embedded below) and let us know what you think. How valuable is self-control in a world so chaotic? What other qualities need to go with it for a person even to survive the game of thrones, much less win it? How would you fare in George R. R. Martin's world? What would you do?
