Traci Stein Ph.D., MPH

Traci Stein, PhD, MPH, is a health psychologist and award-winning author, who is ASCH-certified in clinical hypnosis. She is the former Director of Integrative Medicine in the Department of Surgery at Columbia University, teaches Columbia University doctoral students about how to integrate mental and physical healthcare, and is fellowship-trained in pain management. She is also core faculty member at the Spirituality Mind Body Institute at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her work has integrated complementary/alternative therapies, including biofeedback, hypnosis, and mindfulness, into clinical practice with adults and children.

Dr. Stein has spoken extensively about a wide range of wellness topics, including complementary medicine, managing chronic pain, hypnosis, and intution, as well as about relationships. She been quoted or featured in publications including, "O, The Oprah Magazine," "Health," "Woman's Day," "Shape.com," in Redbook, WomensHealth.com, and many more. Dr. Stein has been also been interviewed on a variety of local and syndicated radio programs and podcasts, including on RadioMDs "Talk Healthy Today" and "Mindful Medicine," on the iTunes top-rated "Smart People" podcast, and on "Maryanne Live" with Maryanne Comaroto, to name a few.

Dr. Stein received her PhD in clinical psychology from Columbia University and an MPH in community health education from New York University. She also earned a dual bachelor of science in psychology and illustration photography from the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse Universtiy. Dr. Stein is the creator of popular guided self-hypnosis audio programs on topics including healthy self-esteem, sleep, mindfulness, self-compassion, conquering procrastination, changing habits, and achieving a healthy weight and body image, developing intuition, and letting go of unhealthy relationships.
