Hello, I am Jo and I am a child-centred play therapist. I offer a playful and safe environment with the relationship at the heart of the therapeutic process. Through this nurturing and dynamic relationship, I work with children to understand and make sense of their experiences, feelings, thoughts and behaviours. I come from a background of over 20 years of teaching and working in schools and with families. I am now passionate about building a trusting therapeutic alliance and safe space for children to explore and process feelings and experiences.
Play therapy is an effective and child-led intervention where a child, through play and creative media, can express and explore their internal and external worlds. Children may not have the words to describe their thoughts and feelings, but as play is a natural medium of expression for children, the toys and play become their form of communication.
I offer one-to-one play therapy sessions, working both in schools or at a private therapy space in Haywards Heath. I work closely with parents/carers and families. I provide a free 15 minute telephone consultation to discuss your needs and how play therapy may help.
