I am a child-centered play therapist and provide a safe and accepting environment for children to express themselves and make sense of difficult life experiences through the metaphors of play. My background is in education, and I have over 15 years of experience supporting children and their families in schools. Play therapy is a proven powerful approach in supporting a child’s emotional health, and there are strong links between emotional wellbeing and academic attainment. Play therapy is an effective intervention for children with a variety of difficulties, promoting increased self-esteem, emotional regulation and resilience.
I work with children from age 4 to 11 who have had a range of experiences including bereavement, separation and loss, attachment difficulties, trauma, anxiety and abuse. I have extensive experience of working with neurodivergent children. Children can choose from a variety of toys such as playdough, sand, Lego, painting or puppets to express themselves.
