You may be approaching therapy thinking that there’s something wrong with you, or that you are a problem. Perhaps there are parts of you or qualities within you that you wish you could embody, but something inside keeps getting in the way. I do not believe there is anything wrong with you, or that you are a problem that needs fixing. I view human development as a process that occurs spontaneously under supportive conditions. For example, when you see a plant that looks unwell, we don’t conclude that the plant is “no good” and throw it out. Rather, we shift the internal and external conditions to support the plant in thriving.
As a clinician, I take a holistic, integrative, decolonizing approach, drawing principles from Transpersonal, Humanistic, and Experiential therapeutic modalities - including expressive arts and movement, and focusing (connecting with felt sense). I have completed the Level 2 training in the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) to address complex trauma.
Healing is not an easy journey, but the journey is a privilege to walk with clients. Sometimes we may find ourselves stuck and wondering why embodied change feels continuously evasive.
