It can be so hard to manage your day-to-day when anxiety, trauma, and a general sense of unease fill your mind (and body) with negative thoughts and sensations. You might be feeling stuck, but you're also searching for the right support because you have hope that you can heal. I recognize the value of truly knowing that you’ve not only been heard, but also understood. Sometimes this seemingly simple act can spark the beginning of a healing journey. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative and empowering process, and whenever possible, one that seeks to focus on strengths rather than to pathologize weakness.
I also work with high performers (athletes, coaches, first responders, business professionals, etc.) to help them to build mental skills and emotional awareness so that anxiety and self doubt don’t take over. I also strongly believe that no one is simply a 'performer,' but is a 'whole person' who might have challenges in multiple areas of life.
The first step is often the toughest. Please don't hesitate to contact me to see if I'm a good fit for what you're looking for. I'm conveniently located in the Orchard Park offices on the beautiful grounds of the Guelph Ignatius Jesuit Centre. I am also happy to offer secure online sessions where you can speak to me from the comfort of your own home.
