Hello, my name is Rebecca (she/her), and I am a Registered Psychotherapist. I obtained my Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology as well as a minor in Gender Studies prior to completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Throughout my education, I learned the importance of awareness of intersectionality, and how overlapping identities such as sex, gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, and religion, can be empowering and oppressing at the same time. I believe it is important to acknowledge and explore how these social identities and the roles that you hold play a part in your life experiences.
My hope is to provide you with an anti-oppressive, non-judgemental, and empathic therapeutic space while working as a collaborative team. I often stress that you are the expert in your own life and experiences, and I am simply the one who helps guide you further along in your journey of self-discovery. I strive to cultivate a space where you feel safe
and secure in exploring parts of yourself that maybe you have never been allowed to explore or have felt safe enough to acknowledge by yourself or with others. I recognize and admire the vulnerability and strength that it can take to reach out for support. I’m here with you and am privileged to witness and be a part of your journey!
