Hello! My name is Millie Batta (she/her) and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor at Shoreline Counselling. I recognize that seeking counselling can be a vulnerable step that requires courage and strength. With this in mind, I consider counselling to be a sacred space and strive to provide a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere. I focus on creating a collaborative and trusting relationship, where people feel seen and heard in each session. I work to empower individuals as we collectively work towards your goals of change in a way that resonates with you.
The foundation of my work is based on a person-centred approach, where authenticity, acceptance, and empathy are the pillars of my counselling practice. I provide trauma-informed and culturally-informed care by adopting an intersectional lens to explore how the complexities of one’s social identities can impact overall well-being.
My lived experiences as a first-generation Indo-Canadian have helped me appreciate individual experiences and unique values. I believe therapy should reflect such diversity; thus, I work to tailor my approach to work in your best interest.
