At times anxiety, depression and/or trauma may impede an individual's natural ability to cope. I believe when a safe and supportive environment is created, individuals may openly explore their struggles and find healthier ways of coping. I have many years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families regarding development, disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and brain injury/stroke. For the past 10 years, I have specialized in supporting sexual and gender diverse children, youth, and families.
My specialization is working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing grief and loss. I have extensive experience in assessment and consultation for preschool to school-aged children, and adolescents with attention, developmental, behavioral and emotional difficulties.
I believe therapy is a journey of self-discovery. I incorporate the use of many modalities such as EMDR, CBT, play therapy and expressive arts in treatment. I am also SPACE trained (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions). Whether I am working with a child, adolescent or adult, I strive to provide a safe and inclusive therapeutic space.
