I have over 25 years of experience working in the field of mental health in a variety of areas, however, my passion has landed in the area of supporting individuals over the age of 50 as they navigate the many changes that come with this time of life. I believe that this age group is often overlooked when it comes to counselling support and services and yet it is a significant time in people’s lives where they experience many transitions, changes and personal growth.
My counselling experience includes working in areas such as anxiety, depression, and life transitions such as relationships, work, health, loss and rebuilding oneself. I believe in creating a safe and comfortable space for individuals to explore any challenges they may be facing, and finding ways to live the life they want.
I incorporate a variety of counselling approaches in my practice including CBT, strength based, acceptance and commitment therapy as well as mindfulness and self-regulation techniques. I use a trauma informed approach to my practice to create a safe, authentic and comfortable space for individuals as they move through their own unique journey.
