My ideal clients range in age from adolescents through adulthood, including couples and families. They may have a past history of trauma or grief, or perhaps they are presently struggling with symptoms of ADHD, life changes, or a breakdown of a key relationship. They may be feeling completely overwhelmed and unsure where to go next. They will be open to trying new ideas to help them on the path to feeling better, but will not be worried about talking to me when certain strategies that do not work for them, as they will know it is best that we use techniques that they are comfortable with and will use.
I can help with grief, trauma, stress, life changes, helping with ADHD, helping couples and families, and life planning. I draw from many theories such as EMDR, ACT, EFT, and narrative therapy. I use a client centred approach, so while I will be there with you for your journey, you will always be in control of the route we take.
The first step of reaching out for help is often the hardest as some do not know what to expect from counselling. What you can expect is a supportive environment, and the opportunity to talk about the changes you wish to make in your life, thoughts and/or emotions. I look forward to connecting with you!
