Hi! I'm Kristy McConnell, RPsych. I created Off the Beaten Path to provide psychotherapy to those in the Airdrie area who are interested in different approaches to therapy. OBP offers mental health treatment that utilizes movement by walking or running together during therapy. Office and couples appointments are available as well. Addressing your unique challenges with a personalized approach is where I find my stride. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, PPD, PTSD, trauma, relationship difficulties, or simply find the idea of sitting across from someone in an office intimidating at times, let's move forward together.
I use attachment focused EMDR, cognitive behavioural and integrative approaches. Moving forward together provides the perfect metaphor for identifying and resourcing your strengths. We will discuss coping strategies, and identify hoped outcomes. My style always incorporates humour, compassion, and appreciation for your commitment to your health and wellness.
Activity and connecting with nature has long been established as a powerful way to release endorphins, improve self-esteem, and increase creativity and problem solving. As a certified Endurance Running Coach, I provide a safe, therapeutic environment, tailored to clients of all fitness levels, including those who would prefer to meet at my office.
