As a counsellor, I work with my clients to find positive coping mechanisms. I deal with emotional and behavioural problems. This refers to things like depression, anxiety, stress, aggression etc. I also help with relationship problems, not just romantic relationships, but friendships and parent-child relationships as well. I also work with clients who have been through traumatic situations, both recent and in the past, and I offer grief counselling. I use many different therapeutic techniques and offer counselling for children, adults, and teenagers.
Some therapeutic techniques I offer include Cognitive-behavioural therapy, Dialectical behavioural therapy, Emotional Analytical therapy, behaviourism, trauma counselling, Play therapy, relationship counselling, grief and bereavement counselling, narrative counselling, projective testing.
One thing I always tell me clients is that your emotions and feelings are always valid and you should never apologize for what you are feeling. But, whatever you are going through, your actions are still a choice and you should not use your circumstances as a way to justify your actions.
