When families thrive, that is when society will thrive. Each member of a family deserves support and care where they are at. I work with people who want to put the work in, in a supportive environment. Most mothers, and parents, are trying their best but still coming up short. They want to feel more empowered in their parenting role, thrive in their relationships, have a meaningful life outside of parenting. Neurodiverse families deserve support, psycho-education, and guidance from an affirming therapist who knows what they are going through.

Hi my name is Thami and I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist based in South Africa. I have come to realise that most of the time, "people's feelings are influenced by their thoughts "( Aaron Beck). In order to achieve your goals, you need to work on the meaning you attach to different circumstances you find yourself in.

I hold at my core a few principles which I bring to a therapeutic space. This first is without judgment – Each person experiences events in their lives in their own way, and I do not believe in imposing my own beliefs on others. I believe the therapist and patient are fellow travelers on a journey together where both parties contribute to the therapeutic process. I conduct myself in an honest and transparent manner to ensure that I remain professional and ethical in all that I undertake to do. I believe each patient’s individuality requires a tailor-made intervention that speaks to that person’s need - not a one size fits all view.

I work with individuals to address a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, bullying, anger, grief and relationship difficulties.
In my practice as a therapist, I am inspired by the philosophy underpinning Kintsugi. The art of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer, highlights fractures rather than concealing them, creating something stronger and more beautiful than before. Similarly, therapy invites us to embrace our wounds, acknowledge our vulnerabilities, and find beauty in our resilience. Through compassionate reflection and introspection, we discover that our cracks and scars do not diminish our value but add depth to our story and strength in our wholeness.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
