I work with people of all ages – children, adolescents and adults – dealing with a range of psychological and psychiatric difficulties that include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma and changes in mood. My passion lies in working with adolescents and young adults, providing a space where my clients are able to engage freely from a position of safety. I also have a keen interest in working with victims of cybercrime related to extortion. My belief around running my practice is quality over quantity, as I place significant value on both the time I can offer my clients and a deep engagement in the overall process.

Trust the process of healing: a Person’s life experiences directly impact on their overall wellbeing. When we experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for our lives to unravel. Often underlying emotional problems need to be addressed before a lasting improvement in a person's quality of life can take place. Christel completed her internship at 1 Military Hospital where she was exposed to various aspects of psychodynamic imbalances and trauma-spectrum manifestations within a diverse demographic and cultural client base.

The process of addressing mental health is holistic. The understanding of how the mind and body influences the thoughts and feelings that we have of ourselves and others, is vital. The body is a chemical barrel that enables us to survive everyday life by secreting the necessary hormones and forming neuro pathways, to keep us save. In understanding these coping mechanisms and thought processes, we can prosper our mental health.

I am a therapist who work with individuals. I see children, adolescents and adults. Each patient is a person with a unique biography which include both their joys and struggles. I focus on the person and through our relationship I do my best to help them to understand their thoughts and feelings and to get to know why they feel and behave the way they do. On our journey together we explore whatever they bring, be it a thought, a feeling, a relationship, a dream, a stuckness or a symptom. Therapy, like other relationships, can be difficult. The difference is that this relationship’s purpose is to bring healing and acceptance

All parts of the human experiences are interlinked, and one has to strive for holistic wellness, not only mentally but also physically, emotionally, financially, socially, and spiritually in order to heal, manage, and function as close to their optimum as possible. We are unique and may experience the same problem differently, there is no one size fits all approach to the human experience thus no one size fits all solution to faced challenges which is why my focus is on assisting you as my client by providing you with comprehensive and holistic counselling tailored to your unique experiences

My name is Danica Freimond (pictured on the right with my husband, Sean). I am a registered social worker with a passion to leave people better than I found them. I work from the person-centred approach and place a high value on your innate ability to change and grow. Just because we cannot see a mental health problem, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Mental health should carry the exact same weight as a broken leg; you wouldn't walk around on a broken leg, don't walk around with untreated mental health problems; reach out for help! "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change" C. R. Rogers

You may be wondering about or struggling with life issues, chronic illness, anxiety, mood disorders or even with others in your life. If you experience relational difficulties, loss or problems with love, therapy may be beneficial to you. Or you may not have these issues but want to feel more grounded and have pressing questions or feel uncertain in which case you could also benefit from therapy. As I am in Auckland New Zealand, I am only available for pnline sessions.

I believe that my role is to facilitate healing, growth and increased self awareness in my clients. This comes from my understanding that as people we face different life challenges and are often in conflict with the everchanging circumstances of our lives. We all use different coping skills to adapt to life and at times our coping skills are not sufficient and we are left feeling overwhelmed, helpless and hopeless. Mine is to journey with you through your process in identifying obstacles, removing of symptoms and lessening the pain while positioning yourself well within important social systems for self fulfilment.

I understand that you are at a point in your life where you probably feel like your problems are out of control due to circumstances or perhaps choices that you or others have made that have affected you in a bad way. Be that as a result of trauma in your current relationships or trauma from past relationships or direct trauma you have experienced. I want to help you gain back control of yourself, your life, and find your own way of dealing with the problems that got you here in the first place.
