My main focus is individuals whether in crisis or transition. I specialise in treating anxious and depressed individuals. I provide a safe space in which to understand the reasons underlying anxiety and depression and identify maladaptive coping strategies. Then we work to replace the maladaptive coping strategies with healthy ones. I also enjoy couples therapy and interventions targeting parenting issues. In addition I offer supportive therapy to individuals who are struggling with substance use.
I work from a Cognitive Behavioural and Schema-focused basis. This is especially helpful because the combination helps clients to become solution-focused rather than stay problem-based. You can't always change your circumstances but you can take charge of your responses to external circumstances, no mater how insurmountable they may seem.
