About

Debbie Stier is the founder of a website called The Perfect Score Project, and is writing a book about her experience of trying to get a perfect SAT score. As the mother of two teens, her SAT obsession began when she realized there are nearly 700,000 test prep methods.

Having no idea which one was the best in terms of time and money, she climbed into the SAT trenches to try them out firsthand. She has taken the official SAT (i.e. high school gyms with proctors) 4 times so far in 2011, and has 3 more to go. A former publishing executive, she now spends her days researching "how we learn," what motivates a teenager, how working memory and technology are affecting the learning process, and whether or not our schools are properly preparing students for a test that is deemed "the standard."
