White Pine Center Philisophy
White Pine Center for Healing is the premier treatment and prevention center in Erie dedicated to disordered eating. We are here to serve the Erie community and help to heal those struggling with Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge eating as well as general disordered eating that is causing distress. White Pine Center believes that an eating disorder is secondary, and we treat the root of the issue that fuels the disordered eating to heal holistically. We address and treat an individual's underlying trauma that could be influencing the eating disorder. White Pine Center prioritizes a trauma-informed approach and strives to create a safe environment for a client to unearth vulnerabilities and to fully process within each therapy session. White Pine Center uses a multidisciplinary approach which incorporates a dietician, a therapist and a psychiatrist or PCP throughout treatment. This approach ensures that all needs are being addressed for each client which provides continuity of care. Through a variety of methods, the therapists at White Pine Center can help each client build the awareness needed to start the healing and recovery process. We utilize evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. We also use Art Therapy as a way to express emotions and work through harder internal material. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is also used to work through trauma. In honoring a client's individualism, each therapist operates from a person-centered perspective. White Pine only serves at the outpatient level of care currently but can help link clients to higher levels of care if needed. What Next?

We offer groups and individual sessions that address the needs of clients and parents who have a child engaging in disordered eating.
