We are an established dual-diagnosis residential treatment center with the primary purpose of helping clients recover from substance use disorders. We also have the capability to treat underlying mental and emotional symptoms of substance use such as major depression, generalized anxiety, trauma/PTSD, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. We are here to help people who are "sick and tired of being sick and tired" of their substance use and the many problems it creates.

Insurance covers up to 100 percent of the treatment and therapeutic modalities that Newport Institute offers. We accept all major insurance providers and work collaboratively with payers to optimize coverage for families. Many young adults who receive treatment from Newport Institute using insurance coverage do so through a Single Case Agreement, a special contract through which out-of-network providers can work with a family’s insurance company on an In-Network basis. Newport Institute maintains a full-time, in-house team dedicated to supporting families through the mental health insurance coverage and financing process. In order to secure sufficient insurance coverage, we will most likely need to conduct a series of clinical reviews and any requested doctor-to-doctor calls with the insurance company. While other facilities may charge for this service, we feel it is our responsibility to assist families with what can be a complex process. Our goal is to ensure that families receive the maximum coverage, so they can access the highest-quality treatment.

Rather than simply addressing symptoms and behaviors, Newport’s clinical model achieves sustainable healing by treating the underlying trauma and attachment wounds that manifest as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and co-occurring issues such as substance abuse, self-harm, and eating disorders. We use a documented and outcomes-validated treatment model with standardized protocols, session goals, and group curriculum. In addition, we recognize that family involvement is key, and our model shifts the focus from the patient as the “problem” to the family as the solution. Our philosophy of care builds secure attachment for clients to safely be vulnerable, to explore interests, discover passions, and gain meaning, purpose, and insight to replace high-risk behaviors.

Newport Institute provides options for young adults and families at each step along the journey of healing. Our full continuum of care includes residential treatment centers; a full suite of outpatient programming, with Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and outpatient services with a flexible number of days per week; continuing care through virtual sessions; and a robust Alumni program providing online and in-person events and support groups. All of our programs are accredited by the Joint Commission for Behavioral Healthcare. Through an in-depth assessment process, our clinical experts determine the optimal level of care for each client, at one of our residential or outpatient locations around the country. Clients can step down from our residential care directly into our outpatient programming, to ensure a smooth transition and consistent clinical approach. Or a young adult can enroll in our outpatient programming to receive the ongoing support, structure, and community that’s not available in weekly therapy. No matter where a young person is on their path to recovery, we provide the customized care they need to thrive.

Throughout the duration of treatment you will be living at our residential treatment center and receive 24 hour care. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Seven Hills Hospital in Henderson, Nevada, may be an ideal treatment option for adults who can benefit from step-down support after completing a higher level of care for a mental health disorder or a substance use disorder, which is the clinical term for addiction. Our IOP also serves adults who are stepping up from traditional outpatient services, as well as those who are entering treatment for the first time. Adults who receive treatment at the IOP level typically receive about 15 hours of care each week, including lunch each day. Group therapy is the main method of treatment in our IOP, with each treatment day including multiple groups. During an adult’s time in our IOP, they may participate in trauma groups, process groups, skills groups, and meditation/mindfulness groups. We also offer on-site 12-Step groups, including both Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings, as well as education and support for those who wish to follow the SMART Recovery model.
