The clinicians at The Counseling Center of Group use an array of techniques to help enhance the quality of life for individuals, couples, groups, and families. Through our strength-based and collaborative approach, we offer new insights that enable our clients to see things from different perspectives. We provide treatment and counseling for anxiety, depression, grief, emotional regulation issues, self-esteem, relationship concerns, and parenting. The Counseling Center Group utilizes evidence based strategies to help empower our clients to make choices that generate positive changes in their lives. Sandstone Care provides substance use, addiction, and mental health treatment for young adults (ages 18 to 30) and adolescents (ages 13 to 18) including Residential Treatment, Day Treatment (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and General Outpatient (OP) programming.

Barbara Harrison is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, a Certified Advanced Practice Addiction Registered Nurse and a Maryland State approved Substance Abuse Supervisor. Ms. Harrison is Certified in: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). She is a member of the International Nurses Society on Addictions, the American Nurses Association, the Maryland Nurses Association, and is a Member if the Montgomery County Local Behavioral Health Authority Provider Council. She Specializes in working with individuals, families, and Groups in the treatment of mental health.

At Elkton Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), we offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are suffering from addictions to heroin, fentanyl, prescription painkillers, and other opioids. While some methadone clinics just provide medication to help people stop opioid use, our CTC offers methadone and counseling services to promote lasting recovery. Methadone is an FDA-approved prescription medication that can alleviate the painful withdrawal symptoms people may experience when they quit using opioids. The therapy component of MAT can give patients the chance to address the emotional aspects of recovery. By receiving medication and therapy as part of MAT, patients can improve their functioning, avoid relapse, and achieve lasting recovery from opioid addictions. We offer MAT as a flexible outpatient service, so people can receive treatment while continuing with their daily schedules.
