One reason why people have such trouble achieving recovery on their own is that opioid withdrawal can include intense cravings, physical pain, and psychological distress. Located in heart of the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, Next Step Recovery provides an outpatient addiction treatment center known as PHP & IOP to men in recovery from substance use disorders. IOP Services provides “intensive outpatient” therapy for adults who would benefit from more than just "normal therapy" (i.e., meeting for an hour every week or two with your therapist) but do not need complete hospitalization or residential treatment. IOP Services provides nine hours of group therapy per week to each client in addition to targeted individual support. From an IOP, you can "step up" into a residential program if you need more support or "step down" into less intensive forms of therapy when you're feeling better. You decide what works best for you.
