TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is an FDA approved treatment for adults who suffer from major depressive disorder and who have failed to find relief from anti-depressants. It is an office procedure where magnetic pulses target the prefrontal cortex of the brain. Most patients require 20 to 30 treatments to emerge from depression, over 4 to 6 weeks. The treatment lasts about 20 minutes, has few side effects, and patients can resume their normal day going to work, to school, etc. Unlike medication, TMS has very few side effects.

MAT incorporates prescription medications to help people stop using opioids and therapy to help them build a foundation for lifelong recovery. The medications that are authorized for use in MAT programs in the U.S. have been closely studied for several years, and they have documented histories of safety and effectiveness. These medications can ease the cravings and other distressing symptoms of opioid withdrawal, which can make it easier for people to end their opioid use. However, medication alone cannot address the behavioral, psychological, and social aspects of opioid addiction and recovery. This is why counseling is such an integral part of the MAT experience. During counseling sessions, adults can identify the events and circumstances that may threaten to undermine their recovery. They can also develop skills in important areas such as conflict resolution and stress management. We serve young men, ages 9-22, who have problematic behaviors, sexually reactive behaviors, complex developmental difficulties, chronic mental illness and other behavioral issues. Stetson supports young men who have suffered from severe trauma, have histories of physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse and who may have had disrupted living arrangements or placements. We specialize in flexible, family-driven treatment, safety, stabilization and assessment. We develop an alliance with the family and work to strengthen those supports to enable a safe return to the community. Patients in our MAT program can benefit from taking methadone under the guidance of a professional. The FDA-approved prescription medications used in MAT can reduce opioid cravings and withdrawal symptoms, helping people stop opioid use more easily.
