Benefits of Medication-Assisted Treatment
Conveniently located in Huntington, West Virginia, Huntington Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who have addictions to opioids like heroin, fentanyl, and prescription painkillers. MAT is evidence-based and combines the use of prescription medications with counseling to comprehensively treat opioid addiction. The medications used in MAT have been approved by the FDA and can alleviate the painful symptoms of opioid withdrawal. Some methadone clinics only provide prescriptions for one type of medication, but at Huntington CTC, we prescribe methadone, buprenorphine, Vivitrol, or Suboxone, depending on the patient’s needs. In addition to prescription medication, our patients receive counseling that can help them build coping skills and practice stress management. Our treatment center aims to address opioid addiction’s physical and emotional aspects together to best support recovery. What To Expect
If you want to get treatment for an opioid addiction, you can come to our CTC for an assessment or you can schedule an appointment online anytime, 24 hours a day. During the intake process, patients meet with our behavioral health team so that we can get the details we need to provide personalized care. Based on a patient’s assessment, our expert staff determines which medication may be best for them. When a person receives medication-assisted treatment at our CTC, they also participate in individual and group therapy. Patients can continue to receive medication management services as they attend counseling sessions. Individual therapy allows patients to examine the psychological aspects of recovery one-on-one with a counselor. Led by our staff, group therapy provides a place for patients to share their experiences. Therapy sessions can help patients develop skills for handling triggers and cravings and form a network of peers that can offer valuable support throughout the recovery process. Serving the communities of Cabell and Wayne counties, Huntington CTC is located in the downtown area of Huntington, West Virginia. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 5 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and Saturday, 6-9 a.m. Medication hours are Monday-Friday, 5-11:30 a.m., and Saturday, 6-9 a.m. We do not offer any services on Sundays. Our staff is made up of multidisciplinary professionals who work together to create individualized treatment plans that can best promote opioid addiction recovery. These professionals provide clinically excellent care and compassionate encouragement. When you get help at our CTC, you receive more than medication. MAT combines counseling with the use of medication, which can provide well-rounded support that can lead to lasting recovery from opioid addiction.
