Have you been seeking professional therapy and have been having a hard time connecting with a Latino male clinician? Have you dealt with traumas alone and felt as though no one would understand your struggle? I help guarded people affected by trauma find their new sense of normalcy by helping them overcome guilt, depression, anxiety and grief. I am an LCSW with 5 years of clinical experience working in the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health outpatient programs, I engaged in South Los Angeles community homeless outreach as well as forensic/jail re-entry programs, and currently work as a Middle School Mental Health Therapist.
I accredit my professional philosophy/motivation in choosing to work in the mental health sector, to my community La Puente, Ca. This was influenced by adverse life events such as witnessing drug use, gang violence, and relationships I had with members of the community struggling with mental health illnesses.
My professional aim for my social work practice is to assist minorities in overcoming cultural and systematic barriers that contribute to mental health ailments through insight-driven therapy.
