Yvonne Woods LCSW-R My approach to therapy is in utilizing my skills as a therapist to assist individuals with goal setting and accomplishing these goals. I utilize the model of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist clients with understanding the underlying causes of their stress and effective ways of handing them. I approach my sessions by allowing my clients to define their reasons for seeking out therapy and to involve them in the process of attaining a favorable outcome. My focus areas of counseling are Anxiety. Stress. Mood disorders. Depression. I work with individuals. Couples. The elderly.
Setting a warm, comfortable environment is conducive to making my clients feel welcomed and offers them feeling a feeling of safety and trust. My clients have expressed a feeling of comfort and empathy when working with me. I try my best to be professional but caring with my clients.
I approach my sessions by allowing my clients to define their reasons for seeking out therapy and finding out what their goals and expectations of the therapy is. I feel it is important to involve them in the process of goal setting as it empowers them to be a part of accomplishing their goals.
