My name is Xavier Walker, I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor. I am licensed in New York with 6 years of professional work experience. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I typically work with adult clients aging from 18-70. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, anger management, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence, & depression.
My primary approach to therapy is to build a strong rapport with my clients through the use of various therapeutic approaches. My most commonly used theoretical approaches are Person Centered Therapy, CBT, DBT, and Strengths Based therapy.
I like to make clients feel comfortable. Therefore, I use the best tone to form a working alliance with clients. This would be a calming and accepting environment that is free and safe from judgement. Working with me feels like casual and safe sessions in order to address both deep-rooted issues and surface level concerns.
